Ned's Point Lighthouse
Description
The Ned's Point lighthouse is located in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts. It was built in 1838 and decommissioned in 1952. In 1993, the local Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla adopted the lighthouse. Auxiliary members renovated the lighthouse in 1995-1996. The tower is built of stone with a cantilevered granite stairway, with 32 steps embedded in the inner wall without the use of mortar. This is on the National Register of Historic Places (NRIS #87001488).
